He has finally been caught! Osama bin Laden has been killed by U.S. Special Forces. This man was responsible for one of the deadliest days in the history of the United States. He orchestrated the attack on the World Trade Towers. Bin Laden was found and killed in a home Pakistan. The first reports have said that no U.S. military was killed. This is a magnificent day for all citizens of the U.S. With this man gone we can continue our fight on terror with everyone knowing that if you attack the United States you will be caught no matter where you go. The killing of bin Laden is something that we have needed as a country to put us at ease. With him gone the government can show that they will never let anybody get away with attacking the United States.
I have have some very good news for all Americans. Barrack Obama was elected President of the United States early this morning. This is a wonderful day for all of us, the American people. This is momentous day for me. My brother Jack and I fought for Civil Rights when he was President and I continued on the legacy both he and I wanted to create. Senator Obama being elected President shows how far our country has come in the last forty years. On April 4, 1968 I was preparing to speak to a group of African Americans in Indianapolis, Indiana, campaigning for the Democratic Nomination for President, when I was told that Martin Luther King was shot and killed. I was advised that I should not speak out of fear for my safety, but I decided to anyway. We did not know what to expect from the crowd when we got there. I learned that they had not heard that Dr. King had been killed. I broke the news to them, not knowing what to expect from them. They were in a state of mourning now. Look how far we've come now! We can hold our heads high and know that we selected an African American President. This wonderful day, this wonderful time, we can look to the future and know that no man will be discriminated against because of the color of their skin. If you would like to hear the speech I made about Martin Luther King please go to this link http://www.historyplace.com/speeches/rfk-mlk.htm.
Sent to a foreign country once again. Thousand of men, women, and children will be evacuated from their homes and possibly killed. This makes me worry for the future of our country. It feels, on this day, that we won't be able to win this war. To me this reminds me of the Vietnam War. I am a Navy man myself, but I do not believe that this war is worth fighting. It will cost thousands of lives and for what reason? What will this do for us as a country? We have gone through this before. We may be believing that we need to do this war to get back at them for what happened on September 11, 2001, but this is not true. They were not the reason for the attacks, the group that attacked us had zero support from the countries. Our President is out here trying to get his father's enemy instead of trying to protect our country. By sending us to this war he is not doing what is right for our country, he is there trying to capture his father's enemy. Don't start a war for that send a team to capture him. A war is not worth it for him.
Please be calm and collected America. I understand what it is that you are going through, but we are all the creations of Him. In a time of terror like we have experienced we need to understand that our country has made it through tough times. We made it through a Civil War, one that lead the way to African Americans having equal rights. We have made it through the Cold War, in which nuclear attacks were expected. We made it through the Cuban Missile Crisis in which were tough times, especially for Jack and I. We have made it through these difficult times and came out stronger. Don't believe everything that you will here over the next few days. Some will be truths, but most of it will be false. We need to stay strong and together. Send your prayers to the family of the victims, don't send a feeling of hatred to them. We must stay strong within this time of need.
